Kathleen.B.Duke@usace.army.mil. Y -- Phase 1 of the Western C-11
project consists of the construction of Pumping Station S-9A, which
will serve to back-pump clean seepage water that has been isolated from
urban and farm runoff into Water Conservation Area 3A. In the second
phase of the project, a divide structure will be constructed east of
the pumping station to prevent C-11 flows from moving west toward the
pumping station. The pumping station is located adjacent to the
existing Pumping Station S-9 approximately 1/2 mile west of U.S.
Highway 27 at the intersection of the C-11 canal in Broward County,
Florida. The project consists of construction of the substructure and
superstructure, providing pumping units, providing the pumping station
auxiliary equipment (including electronic controls for the engines and
motors), an emergency generator, fuel piping and monitoring, relocation
of a domestic water well, earthwork adjacent to the pumping station,
and miscellaneous retaining walls. The construction of Pumping Station
9A includes the following: (a) The installation of two 175 cubic feet
per second (cfs) pumps and two 75 cfs pumps. All pumps will be
vertical impeller types. Two of the pumps will be driven by diesel
engines through a right angle speed reducer. Two of the pumps will be
driven directly by electric motors; (b) Equipment for the pumping
station will include, but not be limited to, a trash rake, a bridge
crane, and a standby generator; (c) Construction of the pumping station
will include, but not be limited to, the station substructure, a fully
enclosed building for the equipment, one access bridge, trash racks,
and related civil works; (d) Other construction will include, but not
be limited to, the pumping station approach and discharge channels. The
approach channel will consist of a trapezoidal channel having a bottom
width near the pumping station of approximately 50 feet and an invert
near the pumping station of -13.5 feet, NGVD. The existing ground
surface elevation in the vicinity of Pumping Station 9A is
approximately 8.0 feet, NGVD. PROPOSAL REQUIREMENTS: Proposals will be
evaluated and rated on the following factors: Past Performance and
Price. This is a competitive best value Source Selection in which the
offerors performance history is approximately equal to price. Magnitude
of construction is $5,000,000 to $10,000,000. Invitation for Bid
