Construct B1B Live Munitions Ramp for the Kansas Air National Guard at
McConnell AFB, Wichita, Kansas. Project constructs approximately
79,425 SY B-1B aircraft-parking apron (18-in. thick concrete, 4-in.
cement treated drainage layer, and 8-in. lime treated subgrade (LTS))
adjacent to existing taxiway. Project constructs 50-ft wide, primarily
asphalt over LTS, shoulders adjacent to new concrete parking apron.
Project grading requires large amounts of earthwork (cut/fill). Project
constructs reinforced concrete box (RCB) culvert to extend existing
storm drainage pipes under new concrete apron. Project constructs
concrete drainage flume, five new storm inlets, and 10,000-gal spill
capacity oil/water separator. Project constructs 8-in. fire protection
main with fire hydrants and semi-flush taxiway lights at perimeter of
apron with two lighted taxiway signs. Project provides ramp area
lighting. Project provides five 7-ft W x 21-ft H x 76-ft L metal
barricades with compacted granular fill with individual lighting and
communications support. Airfield obstruction lighting to be mounted on
top of new area lighting and barricades. Project provides
miscellaneous other pavements including 12-in. concrete road and
5/7-in. asphalt pavements on LTS. Apron and support pavements will be
stripped. Project demolishes existing asphalt pavement, and existing
security fence and communications cable to be demolished and replaced.
Project relocates pad-mounted transformer. Project caps and replaces
two monitoring wells. Project dismantles and relocates 2,700 SF metal
building to new site with pavement and electrical support. Project
demolishes existing overhead electrical power system to include poles
length of ramp and constructs new 12470-volt underground primary
service. Two primary pad switches will be required to feed pad-mounted
transformers. Project provides remote camera, site surveillance
capability. Project constructs new 1,300 SF metal building. New
facility is climate controlled with telephone/LAN service (copper
andfiber), CCTV, and P.A. system. Project installs domestic water
service, two-1,500 gal concrete wastewater holding tanks, and required
electrical support for new facility. Bidders must submit with their
bid data verifying accessibility to operational, heavy-duty, fully
energized, self propelled paver-finisher designed specifically for
placing, consolidating, and finishing high quality pavement within
guidelines of project specifications. Pre-approval of machine is
required prior to award. Bidders shall submit with their bid data
verifying minimum 10 years work experience with major concrete paving
operations using paver-finisher machine. Pre-approval of work
experience is required prior to award. This project has not received
final design approval. It is anticipated that the solicitation will be
issued on or about 11 July 2000. Estimated cost of this project is
between $5 and $10 million. All responsible bidders may obtain a bid
set by submitting a cashier's check or money order payable to the U.S.
Treasury in the amount of $258.00. This fee is non-refundable. Plans
