Z -- ROAD IMPROVEMENTS SOL 1443RP719000002 DUE 072500 POC Trish Fresquez-Hernandez, Contracting Officer, 505-285-4641, ext. 11 The National Park Service is soliciting proposals for construction firms having the capability of completing two basic types of road improvements at Canyon de Chelly National Monument, Chinle, Arizona. The first type is a crack seal and bituminous surface treatment on approximately six miles of roads, parking areas, and turnouts. The second type of work is road reconditioning on approximately one quarter mile of roadway. The work consists of existing pavement pulverization and stockpiling; clay subgrade excavation and offsite disposal; and reconstruction of the road using imported backfill, stockpiled asphalt material, and a new bituminous pavement. All traffic markings obliterated by the surface treatment and reconditioning work will be repainted. A negotiated firm fixed price contract will be awarded requiring submission of both a technical and price proposal. The Government will award one contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose proposal, conforming to the solicitation, will be the "Best Value" to the Government, price, technical, and past performance factors considered. The Government reserves the right to award a contract to other than the lowest proposed price. Offerors shall submit proposals that can be accepted solely on the basis of the initial offer, as the Government may proceed with award of a contract without further discussion.
