The system will be used to treat filtrate from a vacuum drum filter. The operating flowrate will be 25 m3/hr. Typical input water will have approximately 1200 PPM of suspended solids. These solids will include: calcium carbonate, clays, fiber-fines, adhesives, and silicon release coating materials. The clarifier will be required to remove greater than 90% of the input suspended solid by a combination of dissolved air flotation and settling. The clarifier unit is expected to be self-contained and skid-mounted. The clarifier will be small enough to be installed in a space of approximately 30' x 30' with a height of 25'. Electrical supply will be 480 VAC 3-phase, 230 VAC 3-phase, and/or 115 VAC. Finally, since the clarifier will be part of a pilot paper recycling system that is intended to reflect current practice in industry, it must be similar to units currently installed in the paper recycling industry.
