modification of the previously issued synopsis dated 25 APR 00 for
contractor support for various branches of its Chemistry Division. The
purpose of this modification is to indicate that a portion of a
previous task will be shown as a separate task and that an additional
task will be added to the solicitation. The portion of the previous
task that will be shown as a separate task involves work in the
Development and Evaluation of New Analytical Technologies. This work
involves research in magnetic resonance methods for Nuclear Magnetic
Resonance (NMR), imaging of solid materials, the use of NMR for
assessing polymers and polymer blends, and the use of these techniques
for the detection of explosives and other concealed materials. The
additional task is for compter hardware and software support. This task
will involve local area network support, software development and
support, on call support and backup support.. This task will be
performed on site at the Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, D.C. As
previously indicated, multiple awards may be made against this
solicitation. The solicitation will close 30 days after the issuance
date. NRL uses Electronic Commerce (EC) to issue RFPs and amendments to
RFPs. The solicitation and any amendments to it will be available via
