B -- DEVELOPMENT OF SPECIFICATIONS AND TEST PROCEDURES FOR THE RELOCATION OF THE PLAU RESOLVER FOR THE F402 ROLLS-ROYCE ENGINE USED IN THE AV-8B AIRCRAFT. The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to acquire services to develop specifications and test procedures for relocation of the PLAU Resolver used in the F402 series engines for the AV-8B aircraft. NAVAIR anticipates award on a sole source basis to Rolls Royce, Bristol England, the manufacture of the F402 engine. The contractor will develop parameters for rig/bench testing of the integral resolver/housing based on technical inputs from the prime airframe manufacturer, provide an accessory control specification that documents design activity and design and qualify the new integral resolver/housing suitable for use in the AV-8B cockpit. The contractor will update the Interface Control Document (ICD) which will also define the airframe wiring characteristics and resolver rigging. In addition, the contractor will provide 1 each engine validation/verification (V&V) kit with its associated technical directive (TD). The V&V kit will include the redesigned engine mounted depopulated PLAU resolver housing and associated wiring, brackets, and electrical connectors.
