Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to acquire services to develop
specifications and test procedures for relocation of the PLAU Resolver
used in the F402 series engines for the AV-8B aircraft. NAVAIR
anticipates award on a sole source basis to Rolls Royce, Bristol
England, the manufacture of the F402 engine. The contractor will
develop parameters for rig/bench testing of the integral
resolver/housing based on technical inputs from the prime airframe
manufacturer, provide an accessory control specification that documents
design activity and design and qualify the new integral
resolver/housing suitable for use in the AV-8B cockpit. The contractor
will update the Interface Control Document (ICD) which will also
define the airframe wiring characteristics and resolver rigging. In
addition, the contractor will provide 1 each engine
validation/verification (V&V) kit with its associated technical
directive (TD). The V&V kit will include the redesigned engine mounted
depopulated PLAU resolver housing and associated wiring, brackets, and
electrical connectors. Services will be required for the period of 1
