The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) as an requirement for continuation of a study to determine the viral contamination of ground water in fractured bedrock aquifers in Baltimore and Harford counties. The USGS anticipates awarding the purchase order to Wisconsin State Lab of Hygiene (WSLH). This is a continuation of an ongoing study. WSLH has provided consistent, quality controlled service. Changing laboratories would jeopardize data consistency and possibly cause bias. WSLH has supplied pathogen analysis for all samples collected. Changing laboratories would jeopardize data integrity and possibly render inconclusive results on pathogenic contamination of public water supplies. WSLH has the in-house equipment and expertise to complete all of the necessary analyses. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY; no formal RFQ will be available.. This award will be made on or about 19 June 2000, under the Simplified Acquisition Threshold of $100,000,00. Any Vendors who can prove they can provide analyses without risk of jeopardizing data consistency and inconclusive results are invited to provide affirmative response to this notice by faxing request to the CO at 703-648-7901.
