Management Branch, STOP 0567, 1400 & INDEPENDENCE AVENUE, SW
Washington, D.C. 20250-0567 D -- WIRING, CABLING AND TELEPHONE INSTALLATION SERVICES!! SOL
FSA-R-0020-00DC!! DUE 070700 POC Scott C. Wolz, (202)720-3736 As part
of a market survey, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA)
is issuing this sources sought announcement for vendors that have
either an established GSA Schedule or Government Wide Acquisition
Contract (GWAC) for cable installation and other IT infrastructure
services to be performed in Field Service Centers operated by the Farm
Service Agency, Natural Resources and Conservation Service and Rural
Development Agencies. Service Centers may have one, two, or more USDA
agencies present at any one location. The sites may be located anywhere
in the continental United States or overseas in the Pacific Basin,
Puerto Rico or Alaska. The list of services may include any or all of
the following: (a) All wiring shall conform to EIA/TIA 568A standard
for Category 5 UTP cabling, (b) All cable will terminate in a quad or
hex configuration at the user work station, (c) Cable will terminate in
government supplied patch panels at a central location i.e. cabinet in
a computer room, (d) 12 foot patch cables will be provided at the user
workstation, (e) 3 foot patch cables will be provided at the patch
panel location, (f) The average cable run is 100 feet, (g) fibre optic
cable and media converters may be required on cable runs over 300
feet, (h) Surface mount conduit and surface mount receptacles may be
required at some locations, (i) All government supplied NEC telephone
systems require NEC certified technicians to install or move, (j) Most
sites will require PC (Win9x, NT Workstation), UNIX and/or printer
integration. At present, it is anticipated a maximum of 60 sites will
need some work completed but it is possible the number could be
significantly lower. Ideally, the work should be complete by the 3rd
quarter FY2001. The USDA will require a minimum of 14 days scheduling
lead time but the normal lead time would be 30 days scheduled before
installation is to begin. The government anticipates using multiple
vendors to perform the above services where Service Center operational
necessity requires. At this time the government is requesting
information relating to your company's capabilities and any other
information you deem relevant to perform the above services. Vendors
should include their appropriate GSA Schedule/GWAC pricing, usage fees
and any travel related costs/terms. The USDA is conducting this market
survey for planning purposes to identify businesses that may have this
capability. Interested vendors should include with the above written
information a list of recent clients (no more than three, government
clients preferred) that you performed these (or similar) services for
within the past year. Include with the references a point of contact,
current telephone number and a brief description of the work performed.
If your company is able to perform the above services, the above
requested information must be received no later than 3:00 P.M.,
Washington, D.C. time, July 7, 2000. This is not a request for
proposal. Once your company information has been reviewed, you may be
contacted by the USDA/FSA.***** Posted 06/07/00 (W-SN462218). (0159) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0030 20000609\D-0004.SOL)
