develop, revise and/or update and present a course of instruction
entitled "Dredging Fundamentals." This requirement is for one (1) base
year with two (2) option years. The purpose of this course is to
provide the student with fundamental theories and practices involved
with the dredging process. This course should teach students the
fundamental dredging theory and accepted dredging practices in addition
to basic information on how Corps dredging projects are engineered,
managed, and maintained. These areas will be addressed through
lectures, group discussions, examinations, and a field trip. Course
sessions are scheduled for July during FY00, and June during FY01 and
FY02, in New Orleans, LA. A team of two (2) instructors shall be
provided by the contractor at each session, average two sessions per
year over three years. The team shall consist of one (1) lead
instructor and one (1) assistant instructor at each session. The lead
instructor must be present during the entirecourse, at each course
session. The assistant instructor will be at the training site to teach
and assist the lead instructor in accordance with their specialized
areas of expertise. Lead instructor should have (a) teaching experience
in the relevant subject area (b) minimum of 500 hours per year working
experience for five (5) of the past seven (7) years within the
dredging industry, (c) minimum of two (2) courses per year, experience
for three (3) of the past five (5) years teaching dredging (d) possess
current knowledge, within the last five years, of the appropriate Code
of Federal Regulations/CFRs, Corps of Engineers Guide Specifications,
Engineer Regulations, Engineer Manual, Technical Manuals and related
technical publications within the dredging industry. Assistant
instructor should have (a) minimum of 400 hours per year working
experience for three (3) of the past five (5) years within the dredging
industry, (b) a minimum of two courses per year experience for two (2)
of the past three years teaching dredging, (c) should have current
knowledge, within the last three (3) years, of the appropriate
technical manuals and related technical publications within the
dredging industry. The following attachments will be provided for a fee
of $45.00 per set. Checks should be made payable to the Finance and
Accounting Officer and should accompany the request for solicitation:
Attendance Record Form, Registration Form, End-of-Course Evaluation,
Completion Certificate, Test Answer Form, Schedule of Instruction,
Instructor Lesson Plans, Pretest and Posttest w/answers, and Course
Manual (includes paper copy of visuals). Attachments will not be broken
out and paid separately. It is not a requirement that you request a
copy of the items listed. The solicitation will be provided at no cost
to interested parties. Interested offerors should notify Tonju Butler,
in writing or by fax, (256)895-1197, not later than 1400 hours, CST, 13
Jun 00. State the solicitation number on the request. Solicitation
should be issued on or/about 13 Jun 00. Responsible sources may submit
proposals which shall be considered by this Agency. Standard
Industrial Code applicable is 8299, with annual receipt not exceeding
$5.0M. Contractor must furnish business size with written request,
along with duns number, tax identification, cage code and must be
