of Justice is seeking proposals for the construction of a new 40,000
square foot Border Patrol Station to be located at the southwest corner
of Aten and Cross Roads in the city of Imperial, California. The work
consists of constructing a new, single story steel frame building, with
concrete slab on grade. Exterior materials include a metal roof,
insulating glazing, EIFS and concrete block walls. Interior finishes
are acoustical ceilings, painted gypsum board walls, concrete block
walls, ceramic tile, resilient tile flooring, and carpet. Specialized
equipment includes detention hardware, CCTV system, wheelchair lift,
uninterruptible power system and electronic access control. A
pre-proposal site visit will be held -- date to be specified in the
Request for Proposals. The Government's estimate of the magnitude of
this project is between $5 million -- $10 million. [This is a 100%
small business set-aside, SIC 1542, "General Contractors --
Nonresidential Buildings, Other Than Industrial Buildings and
Warehouses, size standard $17 million]. The RFP package will be issued
in three parts: 1) RFP standard sections (FAR clauses), 2)
Specification book, 3) Plans. Part 1 (RFP standard sections for
construction) will be made available for download at GSA's electronic
posting website: www.eps.gov. Parts 2 and 3 will be available for
purchase from a commercial printer at an expected cost of $250 -- $300.
Interested parties MUST purchase the specifications and plans in order
to have a submitted proposal considered for award as there are
material aspects of these not present in the RFP standard clauses.
