The principal components of the work under this acquisition include: (1) Mobilization and preparatory work, including installation of cranes and lifting devices as necessary to support the radial gates, counterweights and floats; (2) Removing and replacing wire ropes common to the automatic float-counterweight radial gate operating system on each of the three radial gates; (3) Rehabilitation of all existing wire rope load equalizer assemblies common to each of the three radial gates. The estimated price range of the work is $100,000 to $250,000. The work is located approximately 25 miles west of McCook, Nebraska, adjacent to the town of Trenton, Nebraska in Hitchcock County. Solicitation packages are anticipated to be available 07/07/00. Request for solicitations should be received on or before 07/25/00. The bid opening is tentatively scheduled for 08/08/00, at the office of the Bureau of Reclamation, Great Plains Regional Office, U.S. Federal Building, 316 N 26th Street, Room 2031, Billings, Montana 59101. The contract is to be completed within approximately 185 days. There is no charge for the first copy of the solicitation, additional sets will be provided upon receipt of a nonrefundable check or money order of $9.00 each. After issuance, the solicitation may be viewed, without charge, at the Bureau of Reclamation, Great Plains Regional Office, Room 2031, U.S. Federal Building, 316 N 26th Street, Billings, Montana.
