all labor, material and equipment necessary to replace the vinyl siding
and asphalt shingle roofing at the U.S. Coast Guard Family Housing
Units located at Ft. Wadsworth, Staten Island, NY. This project is a
Multi-Year Indefinite Quantity contract involving work on a total of up
to a maximum quantity of Twenty-One (21) multifamily townhouse
buildings during the term of the contract. The work also includes the
construction of up to a maximum quantity of eighteen (18) trash
enclosures which shall be constructed adjacent to the buildings and
carports. This Invitation for Bids is being issued pursuant to the
Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to
both large and small business participation. This project is estimated
between $1,000,000 and $5,000,000. The applicable SIC Code is 1761.
The tentative date for receipt of bids is 1 August 2000. Group site
visits are tentatively scheduled for 20 July and 27 July 2000 at 10 AM.
Bid packages will be available on or about 28 June2000 at a
non-refundable charge of $56. Certified Checks or money orders should
be made payable to Commercial Blue Print and Supply and mailed to the
firm at: 83 Waverly Street, Jersey City, NJ 07306. Do not send fees to
the Coast Guard. For minority, women owned and disadvantaged business
enterprises: the Department of Transportation (OSDBU) has programs to
assist minority, women owned and disadvantaged business enterprises to
acquire short term working capital and bonding assistance for
transportation related contracts. This is applicable to any eligible
prime or subcontract at any tier. The DOT bonding assistance program
enables firms to apply for bid, performance and payment bonds up to $1
million per contract. The DOT provides an 80% guaranty on the bond
amount to a surety against losses. Loans are available under the DOT
Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime interest rates to provide
accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000.
