synopsis and solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance
with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional
information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the
only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written
solicitation will not be issued. Request For Quotation (RFQ) number is
N66604-00-Q-4777. NUWC Division Newport intends to purchase the
following items as Brand Name or Equal: 0001 Underwater Acoustic Target
Tracking System 0001AA Quantity 1. Ore Offshore Division LXT
Transceiver. P/N 4430B Microprocessor based acoustic tracking system
command/display module. Operates on worldwide AC or 20-60 volts DC
power, including two LCD displays. 0001AB Quantity 1. Ore Offshore
Division LXT System transducer, P/N 4213B, incorporating both
interrogation and receive elements. PVC case. 0001AC Quantity 1. Ore
Offshore Division LXT System interconnect cable, P/N 4113B, to connect
transceiver and hydrophone. 50 ft. length 0001AD Quantity 2. Ore
Offshore Division, P/N 4336B, Multibeacon transponder/responder, 80 W
0001AE Quantity 2. Ore Offshore Division P/N TBD Remote Transducer

number Prototype Multibeacon Test Fixture Salient characteristics are:
Range: Accuracy of 1 meter, Maximum range to track 3,000 yards
Bearing: (azimuth): Accuracy of 5 Degrees Tracking: Able to track two
targets using two different frequencies. Frequency range 22-30
kilohertz. Target Depth: Maximum of 150 feet Portable: Easily portable
by hand. Size of the control unit should be small enough to facilitate
easy handling on deck of research boat, roughly the size of a laptop
computer. Compatibility: Must be compatible with ORE Trackpoint II
System Remote Transponder: Must be operable from a 21-inch vehicle,
with capability to fair protective coverings into a hydrodynamically
smooth shape (the transponder can be mounted outside the hull, but must
be in a smooth, faired covering.) Required delivery is 84 days after
award, F.O.B. Destination Naval Station Newport; Newport, RI. This is
unrestricted. Standard Industrial Code SIC Code is 3812; size standard
is 750 employees. Incorporated provisions and clauses are those in
effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-17. FAR 52.212-1

be in accordance with FAR 52.212-2 Evaluation -- Commercial Items.
Evaluation factors are technical capability, price and past
performance. Each is equally important. A completed copy of FAR

must be submitted with quote. FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and
Conditions -- Commercial Items and 52.212-5, Contract Terms and
Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive Orders --
Commercial Items, and DFARS 52.212-7001, Contract Terms and Conditions
