67 -- REFURBISH JONEL 100' AND 200 SOL MDA113-00-T-0009 DUE 063000 POC Contract Specialist, Bill Gilmore (909) 413-2412, Contracting Officer Fayette White (909) 413-2416 Note 1 applies. Refurbishment of 8 Jonel 100" and 200" telescopes in accordance with a statement of work that requires testing for resolution -- center of field and one inch off axis; transmission -- use of source about CT=3000 degrees Kelvin; back focal length; F/#; disassembly and evaluation, resulting in a written report. After approval of the report the contractor, as necessary, will: clean the telescope barrel and components, giving special care to removal of residue from refractive elements; repaint and replace the light absorbing material in the barrel; send out elements for recoating ("Protected Silver" is the specified coating for the mirror elements); repaint Lens Housing to include: stripping of the old paint off the lens housing; mask and paint lens housing "Range White." Assembled telescopes will have tests described above repeated and values compared. Provide a report on refurbishment and testing. Re-package telescopes and ship to Vandenberg AFB, CA.
