B -- PARAMETRIC STUDY FOR GAS AND ELECTRIC COOKING RANGE DESIGNS The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) intends to issue a firm-fixed price simplified acquisition for a qualified Contractor to conduct a parametric study to address concerns related to the technical, practical, and economic feasibility of modifying gas and electric cooking range designs to address ignition of cooking materials. Specific issues are reliability, durability, cooking performance, safety, operability, and cost. The results of the analyses must be presented in the form of a detailed report in accordance with the Statement of Work. Extensive test work is not expected. Period of Performance is 150 calendar days after award. Request for Quotation (RFQ) No. CPSC-Q-00-5195 will be released on or about June 28, 2000 with quotations due on or about July 20, 2000. All responsible sources may request a copy of the RFQ by fax at (30l) 504-0628 and submit a written quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. No telephone requests for copies of the RFQ will be accepted. The final award(s) decision may be based upon a combination of demonstrated ability to perform the work, demonstrated ability to provide high quality work products, quoted price, past performance in similar and related work, and other evaluation factors as specified in the RFQ. The offerors will need to demonstrate experience in development and assessment of technologies and products for the appliance industry. The anticipated award date is on or about August 23,2000.
