material to complete installation and removal of networking and
telephone cabling. This is to upgrade the existing system for the Fleet
& Industrial Supply Center, Naval Station,Ingleside, Texas. Install
multi-mode fiber to all desktops (FTTD). Additional equipment required
to be purchased by contractor: 100 multi-mode volition VF-45 patch
cords, # Transceivers for use with printers,Fast Ethernet FX Switch to
support all user-networking functions. Completion of the project is
required no later than 90 days from the date of award. This system
provides communication to support The FISC Facility located onbaord
Naval Station Ingleside, 188 Coral Sea Rd, Bldg 233. Furnish and
install CAT 5 and multi-mode fiber to designated areas inside bldg 233.
Telephone and the infrasturcture for a Local Area Network (LAN) shall
be installed. Install a complete system of telecommunications cabling
and pathway components using the Star Topology. All cabling shall
consist of Category5 wiring, and multi-mode fiber. Cabling manufactured
more than 12 months prior to date of installation shall not be used.
The cable shall extend 4 (four-pair), solid conductor, 24 awg 100 ohm
characteristic impedance plenum-rated cable to each terminal box.
STANDARD AND REFERENCES: All material and hardware and workmanship
shall be fully compliant and certified to the American National
Standards Institute(ANSI). Telephone Industries Associations
Electronics Industries Association (ANSI-TIA/EIA, Commercial Building
Telecommunications Wiring Standard 568B, Category 5 (Supplemented by
EIA/TIA Technical Service Bulletin, TSB-36 and TSG-40) and The American
National Standards Institute (ANSI)/INSTITUTE of Electrical and
Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Standard 802.3, Carrier Sense Multiple
Access with Collision Detection (Ethernet, 10 Base-T). In the case of
any technical conflict between documents, The docuemnts with the
highest data rates shall be used. No large business requests will
