This is prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6 and supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This electronic announcement is the only solicitation: Proposals are being requested, but no written solicitation will be issued. Simplified Acquisition Procedures will be used. The Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) intends to procure on a limited-source basis (either from Seagate or from one of its authorized resellers) the following items: (Item 0001) 41 external four-bay cabinets with mini 50-pin SCSIs (Part #DS100-S4MM), (Item 0002) 184 receiving frames for external silos installed (Part #DE100I-RS), (Item 0003) 70 external two-bay cabinets with mini 50-pin SCSIs (Part #DS100-S2MM), (Item 0004) 446 Seagate two-gigabyte SCSI drives with HP firmware (Part #ST32272N), (Item 0005) 716 Kingston narrow SCSI carriers (Part #DE100I-CS), (Item 0006) 223 two-gigabyte SCSI drives with HP firmware (Part #ST32151N), (Item 0007) 111 external mini 50-pin SCSI terminators (no part number available), and shipping, installation and testing of all parts. This acquisition will occur via a firm fixed-price contract. All quantities shall be new/unused and include (at minimum) a one-year manufacturer's repair/replacement warranty. At the time of shipment, the vendor shall provide serial numbers of the drives to be shipped. Seagate Technology is the only known manufacturer of the above-listed items, all of which are required for compatibility with the existing AEGIS Baseline 6P1 Q-70 computer program. The closing date is 16 June 2000. Anticipated award date is 23 June 2000. All items are to be priced FOB destination Dahlgren, VA. Delivery shall be within two weeks of receipt of order. The solicitation number is N00178-00-R-2022 and is a request for proposal (RFP). The electronic solicitation document and its incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-17 and DFARS Change Notice dated 25 April 2000. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) code is 5045 (Computers and Computer Peripheral Equipment and Software); the associated small business size is 100 employees. The Government will award a contract from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose offer conforms to the solicitation, meets all the specifications for each CLIN at the overall lowest delivered cost, and has a satisfactory past performance history for providing the same or similar items. The offeror shall provide with its offer a list (at least three) of previous sales of the same or similar items with a description of the item, quantity, contract number, name or organization, point of contact and telephone number.
