SOL BIA-M00-00-05 DUE 062700 POC Dianne Gutierrez, Contract Specialist, Southwest Region (505)346-7555, Fax (505)346-7186 WEB: http://swr-hq.nm.bia.gov, http://swr-hq.nm.bia.gov. E-MAIL: Dianne Gutierrez@bia.gov., Dianne Gutierrez@bia.gov.. Amend the due date for submission of the Proposals to June 27, 2000 at 2:00 pm DST Albuquerque, New Mexico. The following modification to the CFI Manual will update as follows:Modification to the CFI Solicitation Package Jicarilla Apache Reservation Updated May 30, 2000 1: In Attachment A, CFI Field Manual, Page 1.02, Section 1.30 Procedures, Second Paragraph, the last sentence is modified so that the last three words, "or related fields," are deleted. Because of this modification, the sentence now reads: "Therefore, all Crew Chiefs are required to have a minimum background of two years college education in Forestry." 2: In Attachment A, CFI Field Manual, Section 3.30 Tree Measurement Data, Page 3.25. A new paragraph has been inserted between the fourth and fifth paragraphs on this page. The new paragraph reads: "The excluded and included trees discussed in the previous paragraph are trees that are excluded or included due to errors in applying the limiting distance. For trees that are excluded and included due to diameter, see Section 4.13." 3: In Attachment A, CFI Field Manual, Section 4.13, Page 4.03, under sub-section titled, "1. Excluded, included, and missing trees." The first sentence in the second paragraph is modified to read: "For included trees where the limiting distance has been applied incorrectly on previous inventories, note on the back of the tally card the tree number, species, previous diameter, the distance and the slope from the plot center to the included tree, and any other relevant information as to why the tree is considered an included tree." 4: In Attachment A, CFI Field Manual, Section 4.13, Page 4.03, under sub-section, titled, "1. Excluded, included, and missing trees." Between the second and third paragraphs in this sub-section, a new paragraph has been added. This new paragraph reads: "During previous inventories, some trees less than 5.0 inches in diameter were numbered, tagged, and measured. Some of these trees were included by design, while others were included by mistake. For these included trees where the diameters are currently less than 5.0 inches, do not record any information on the back of the tally card; otherwise, handle these trees the same way the included trees are handled in the previous paragraph. If one of these included trees is now 5.0 inches in diameter or greater, handle it as an ingrowth tree, but keep its current tree number." 5: In Attachment A, CFI Field Manual, Appendix 2, the table titled "Tree Measurement Guide for Jicarilla Inventory" has been modified. Below this table, there are explanations of the codes used in the table. The explanation for the code "R" has been modified to read: "Radial increment for trees that are excluded (with a problem code of 98) and for trees where illogical diameter growth has taken place. In addition, trees where the DBH point was installed more the 6 inches from the correct DBH location. Finally, for trees in Minor Plot 1 of installation plots." Posted 06/09/00 (W-SN463257). (0161)
