The work involves: a) excavating the foundation under approx. 1600 linear feet of the canal and reconstructing and compacting the foundation; b) replacing 12,120 square feet of existing 3" unreinforced concrete liner; c) furnishing and installing 4,252 linear feet of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) lining on canal sie slopes and bottom; d) furnishing and installing fabric form concrete protective revetment on canal side slopes; and e) furnishing and installing a bottom gravel blanket over the PVC lining on the canal bottom. The estimated price range of the work is $1,000,001 to $5,000,000. The work is located 10 miles northwest of Ord, Nebraska, in Valley County. Solicitation packages will be available approximately July 7, 2000. Bid opening is tentatively scheduled for 10:00 a.m., August 8, 2000, at the Bureau of Reclamation's Nebraska- Kansas Area Office, locted at 203 West Second Street, Grand Island, Nebraska 68801. The contract must be completed by no later than April 11, 2002. There is no charge for thefirst copy of the solicitation; additional copies will be rovided upon receipt of a nonrefundable check or money order of $9.00 for each copy. After issuance, the solicitation may be viewed, without charge, at the Bureau of Reclamation's Great Plains Regional Office, 316 North 26th Street, Room 2031 Federal Building, Billings, Montana, or at the address shown above for the Nebraska-Kansas Area Office.
