The Broadcasting Board of Governors, International Broadcasting Bureau, intends to negotiate on a sole source basis under the authority of 41 USC 253 (c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 (one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the governments needs) with Comet North America as they have designed, developed and manufactured capacitors for a worldwide market and are the only manufacturing firm capable of meeting BBG's requirements for high powered Vacuum Capacitors and Components that are needed in support of transmitters within the International Broadcasting Transmitting Station network. The Government intends to award an Indefinite-Delivery-Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) contract for a one year period with three (3) subsequent one year renewal options.
