reconfigurable cab for the Ride Motion Simulator (RMS). The RMS is a
hexapod simulator that simulates and recreates the ride of vehicles and
bump courses. The reconfigurable cab shall have the same mounting
provisions as the existing cab for the RMS platform. The Contractor
shall include finite element analysis (FEA) for structural durability
of the cab in their design. The cab shall be able to withstand the
following RMS performance specifications: a controlled acceleration of
(plus/minus) 5.0 g in the vertical direction, (plus/minus) 2.0 g in
the lateral direction, (plus/minus) 2.0 g in the longitudinal
direction, (plus/minus) 150 rad/sec2 for the pitch motion, 120 rad/sec2
for the roll motion, and (plus/minus) 60 rad/sec2 for the yaw motion.
The cab shall not weigh more than 1000 pounds itself and be able to
withstand weight of up to 800 pounds mounted in the cab. The cab must
accommodate wheeled vehicles such as FMTV and HMMWV. The cab shall have
room to simulate a driver compartment with such hardware as dashboard

the RMS with the cab and display system shall be confined within the
RMS pit and not encroach into the walls or safety rails. Engineering
drawings of the display system shall be GFE. The cab shall contain a
central control point for all wiring in order for easy accessibility
and flexibility in wiring up the electronic controls on the cab. The
cab design shall not interfere with the access platform design. If so,
Contractor must modify the access platform to make around the shape of
the cab. The cab shall be partially enclosed so the occupant's view of
the lab is hidden. The cab shall be designed with a Safety Factor of
2.0. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION WILL BE ON THE TACOM-WARREN BUSINESS
