Department of Commerce, National Marine Sanctuary intends to procure services to provide Lobster and Conch Monitoring and Zone Monitoring Program Data Management for the Florida Keys region. The contractor will be required to perform the following tasks for the Conch Monitoring Program: Conduct belt-transects in zones and reference sites during the period of April through October. Tag-recapture sampling shall be conducted once in the winter and once in the summer. The following tasks will be performed for the Lobster Monitoring Program: Conduct pre-season (July) and post-season (September) randomly stratified sampling of lobster populations using a timed diver survey in 15 no-take zones and corresponding reference sites and Marine Life Monitoring. The following tasks will be performed for the Zone Monitoring Program Data Management: Obtain and archive raw data sets and interpreted information; Develop an ArcView tm GIS project for the Zone Monitoring Program (ZMP); Provide technical assistance in generating Federal Geographic Data Committee -- compliant metadata; and, Obtain synthesized information created from the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary zone monitoring program and combine with Water Quality Protection Program synthesis on one CD-ROM.
