W -- RENTAL OF VARIOUS MARINE EQUIPMENT The Naval Submarine Base New London is publishing this Special Notice per FAR 5.205( c ) to notify all potential sources of our future need for a variety of rented marine equipment and related services to support the visit of the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy to the Sail 2000 Boston Harbor celebration during the period Monday 10 July 2000 through Monday 17 July 2000. Requirements include a 250 foot Breasting barge, CHT barges and related disposal for 125,000 gallons per day, services for a minimum of six tugboats, inbound and outbound harbor pilot and docking pilot services, line handling services, solid waste dumpsters and related disposal, rental and deployment of a maximum of 3,000 feet of eighteen inch oil boom, sea cushion rental, potable water service and the disposal of bilge oil & water. Rentals shall include all necessary manpower and support equipment, including vehicles and small craft. Each vendor shall be required to meet all applicable USCG licensing requirements and all federal, state and municipal laws and ordinances. The Government reserves the right to issue either individual contracts or a single comprehensive contract for all requirements and plans to award all applicable contracts by 30 June 2000.
