On behalf of the Office of the Project Manager for Tank and Medium-caliber Armament Systems, the US Army ARDEC seeks qualified sources for the delivery of 105MM, Anti-Personnel tank cartridges for test and evaluation against U.S. requirements. Cartridges must be compatible with the M68A1 riffled gun. The round is intended to be used against ground troops and dismounted anti-tank weapon teams between 50-700 meters. The cartridge shall not exceed 55 pounds in total weight. A total of 50 cartridges plus 5 inert (dummies) would be delivered by April 2001 and potential options for another 600 by January 2002 and approximately 3000-5000 production cartridges beginning in FY2003. The intent is to award a contract for the initial 55 rounds and an option for the additional 600 could be exercised based, in part, upon satisfactory test results of the 55 initial cartridges. The item must have completed development and be ready for operational use. Conceptual designs/proposals for an anti- personnel round will not be considered.
