202-433-5389. The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Norfolk
Detachment Washington DC (FISCNORVADETWASH) has a requirement in
support of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard Detachment, Plant Equipment
Support Office, Annapolis, MD for a quantity of 4 Model MC-16-H
vertical marine capstan driven by a hydraulic motor through a planetary
reducer to produce 10,000 lbs line pull at 35 f.p.m. on the 16" nominal
diamater cast steel cathead. A sole source contract with McElroy Marine
Machinery is anticipated as technical manuals had been provided and
first article inspection been performed under previous government
contracts. Boats had been configured for specific capstans. Supplies
furnished shall include manufacturer's technical manuals and
installation drawings. The capstans, new and unused, shall be the
manufacturer's commercially available product. The place of delivery
is" Philadelphia Staging Facility, Building #1000, Philadelphia Naval
Business Center, Philadelphia, PA. There is a Option for quantity of 4
Model MC-16H vertical marine capstan and will require the delivery in
the quantity and price set forth herein. The Contracting Officer may
exercise subject option at any time within a one year period (after
contract award) by giving written notice to the contractor. To be
considered, interested offerors shall provide the Contract Specialist,
no later than 2:00 P.M. Eastern Time on 21 JUN 00, technical
literature, evidence of their capability to provide the equipment,
terms and conditions, and provide a price quote for the capstan as
specified above. Proof of registration in the Central Contractor
Registry (CCR) is required. All responses from responsible sources will
be fully considered. A justification and approval for other than full
and open competition is being processed. No solicitation exists, and
requests for a copy of a solicitation will be ignored, unless a
solicitation is subsequently issued. As a result of analyzing responses
to this synopsis of intent, the Contracting Officer may determine that
a solicitation willbe issued. If such a solicitation is issued, an
additional synopsis will be published. Any such solicitation will be
issued to the intended vendor and all responsible firms that respond to
