This project provides for the consolidation and repair by replacement of eight worn-out stand-by steam boilers located in buildings #593 and #1401, Thule AB, Greenland. Three (3) new stand-by steam boilers with a total capacity of 66,000-LB steam per hour will be located in building #341 to support the consolidation of the steam distribution system. Existing stand-by steam boilers will be abandoned in place. The award will be a Firm Fixed Price contract. Magnitude: $1,000,000 -- $5,000,000. The anticipated performance period is between 16 July 2001 and 30 November 2001. All responsible sources may submit a proposal that shall be considered. The summer at Thule Air Base is extremely short and shipment of materials can only take place in June/July. Special Note: All discussion leading to contract award shall take place at the Contracting Office located in the Embassy of the United States of America, Copenhagen, Denmark. All parties responding to this synopsis and any costs incurred as a result of subsequent discussions prior to award of contract are the sole responsibility of the interested parties.
