The Military Traffic Management Command Acquisition Division (MTMC), intends to procure commercial US Flag breakbulk and containerized ocean and intermodal services for the carriage of Department of Defense cargo between points and ports in CONUS to Puerto Rico and Alaska for a (2) two year firm period and a (1) one year option period, effective 01 February 2001 through 31 January 2004 if the option year is exercised. This solicitation when awarded will incorporate the terms and conditions for Puerto Rico and Alaska as Regional Domestic Contract-02. The RFP is expected to be released by 31 July 2000. A pre-proposal conference date is to be determined at a late time. Potential offerors must offer a viable self-sustaining operation that can provide and maintain a regularly scheduled liner service.
