business concerns will be accepted for the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal
National Historical Park Project PRA-CHOH 235(1) in Montgomery County,
Maryland. The project consists of reconstruction and resurfacing
access roads and parkings areas in the Carderock Picnic Area. Project
work includes roadway excavation; placement of aggregate base;
placement hot asphalt concrete pavement; pavement milling; placement of
aggregate base; paving geotextile; and other miscellaneous work.
Principal items of work and approximate quantities are as follows:
Removal of asphalt pavement, 5,200 m2; Roadway excavation 1,770 m3; Hot
asphalt concrete pavement, varying grades,2,450 t; Asphalt pavement
milling, 3,400 m2; Paving geotextile 2,700 m2. The project is expected
to fall within the price range of $500,000 and $1,000,000.Invitation
for Bids No. DTFH71-00-B-00028 will be issued on or about September 12,

Utilization has bonding programs to assist minority, women-owned and

available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at prime
interest rates up to $500,000 to provide accounts receivable financing.
The DOT Bonding Assistance Program enables firms to apply for bid,
performance and payment bonds up to $1,000,000 per contract. DOT
provides an 80 percent guaranty on the bond amount to a surety against
