Aguirre, 505-434-7340 or Civil Engineer, Thomas Torres, 505-434-7375 The USDA Forest Service, Region 3, Lincoln National Forest, Sacramento Ranger District, located in southern New Mexico plans to award a firm fixed price contract for this project, which includes the road maintenance work and drainage improvements to three Forest Development Roads (FDR). The three roads are FDR 164 (Rio Penasco Road, also known as Otero County Road CO17), FDR 5009 (Water Canyon Road), and FDR 169 (Will's Canyon Road, also known as Otero County Road DO18). Road maintenance and drainage improvements include but are not limited to the following work items; maintenance for traffic, reshaping existing roadway, re-grading roadway, excavation and embankment, removal of existing culverts, construction of new culverts, construction of new aluminum box culverts, construction of rock riprap, cleaning culverts, cleaning ditches, constrution of rock fills, and other maintenance items and drainage improvements as will be further described in the solicitation. FDR 164 (Rio Penasco Road) is located approximately 8.5 miles South of Cloudcroft, NM via NM HWY 130 and NM HWY 6365. FDR 169 and FDR 5009 are accessed from FDR 164.
