Rivard, (309) 782-3272 The U.S. Army TACOM-Rock Island, intends to issue a negotiated acquisition to procure 555 each Pulse Jet Systems (PJS) modification kits required in support of a foreign military sales (FMS) requirement. The Pulse Jet System (PJS) is a self-cleaning air intake filter, designed to let a pulse of air clean the main engine air filter to allow continuous operation of the M1A1/M1A2 Abrams tank engine in adverse sand and dust conditions. The PJS Mod Kits that will be procured consist are comprised of five subkits as follows: 1) Vehicle Mod Kit, NSN: 2940-01-434-7200, P/N: 57K2928; 2) Engine Mod Kit, NSN: 2940-01-434-4202, P/N: 57K2929; 3) Powerpak Mod Kit, NSN: 2835-01-434-4952, P/N: 57K2933; 4) Left Oil Cool Fan Mod Kit, NSN: 2940-01-434-4201, P/N: 57K2949, and 5) Hull Networks Box Mod Kit, NSN: 6110-01-434-4955, P/N: 57K2934. This acquisition will be a Trade-Off/Best Value effort resulting in a firm fixed price contract. There is a requirement for first article testing on various components within the subkits. The estimated release date of the request for proposal is 02 July 2000. The solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.501, 5.102(a)(7), and 14.205-c(c).
