45268 Under the authority granted in FAR 6.302.1, the USEPA intends to
seek a quote on a sole source basis from Geoprobe systems for a
Hydraulically powered soil unit wiht 2 Probe Hammers. The minimum
specifications are as follows: 1. Hydraulically soil probe unit, 66
inch stroke, 5 inch diameter main cylinder wohich is capable of
supplying 32,00 labs of down force and greater than 42,000 lbs pull at
120 rpm. ability to be displaced in and out from the probing unit and
carrier vehicle of at least 20 in.Two speed pull cylinder, will pull
rods full stroke in 11 seconds, highspeed, the machine can cycle from
bottom to top in 5 seconds or less. Controls sufficient to control
machine movement cylinders, the proble cylinder, hammer, hammer
rotation, and the auxiliary high torque auger head. A hydraulic system
pressure gauge shall be located on the control panel. the unit shall
be capable of using the current Geoprobe tools without modiffication to
the unit or the Geoprobe tools. 2. Probe Hammer: shall hit at a minimum
of 1920 blows per minute and deliver forces greater than 20,000 pounds
per blow to the top of the probe rod. Hammer shall have an integral
rotary feature capable of torque up to 560 ft. lbs. and bi directional
rotation. 3. Probel Hammer shall hit at a min. of 1800 blows per
minute and deliver forces greater than 15,000 ponds per blow to the top
of the rod. Hammer shall ahave an integral rotary feature capable of
torque up to 620 ft. lbs. The manufacturer shall provide a one-year
warranty. Installation shall be performed by the manufacturer within 30
days of the systems acceptance. This procurement will be accomplished
under FAR Part 13, SAP. Interested firms may identify their interest
and capability to respond to the requirements or submit quotations.
This notice of intent is not a request for competetive quotations. To
receive a request for Quotations package, send your request to the
address listed above. NO TELEPHONE REQUEST OR FAX WILL BE HONORED. The
request can be no later than 6/30/00. A determination by the
government not to compete this acquisition based upon the responses to
this notice is soley within the discretion of the government.
Information received will normally be considered soley for the purpose
