S -- - NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOTIATE A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT WITH ALASKA DEPT.OF FISH & GAME. Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with the Alaska Dept. of Fish & Game (ADF&G) for the Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC). Purpose of contract is to provide for collection of groundfish data caught in the 2000 ADF&G Westward Region trawl survey. The ADF&G will be conducting a groundfish survey trawl for the period 7/00 -- 6/01 that entails total enumeration and weighing or subsampling of groundfish in survey catches so that species of groundifsh caught and their respective numbers and weights for each trawl haul are made available to the AFSC. ADF&G's mission similar to AFSC's in managing groundfish fisheries, no other source capable of providing this service since due to inherent sovereign nature of proposed contract. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $50,000.
