Hayden VA Medical Center is soliciting proposals for the modernization of three (3) passenger elevators located in Building 1, 650 East Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ 85012. The estimated cost range is $250,000 to $500,000. Work includes general construction, mechanical and electrical work; more specifically, this project will provide for the complete upgrade and modernization of passenger elevators numbers 1, 2, and 3 at building 1. Elevator number 1 travels from the basement to the sixth floor, a total of seven floors. Elevators numbered 2 and 3 travel from the first floor to the sixth floor, a total of six floors. Elevator number 1 is contained in it's own shaft and Elevators 2 & 3 are in a separate shaft across an elevator lobby from the number 1 elevator. The elevator equipment room is located directly above the two shafts on the seventh floor. The solicitation also requires related warranties/guarantees and full maintenance, including emergency call back service. The facility will be occupied during the modernization, therefore, phasing of the work will be required to maintain elevator service. The contract will be awarded to the offeror who provides the best overall value to the Government. This solicitation is being procured on an unrestricted basis. The solicitation will be available on or about July 6, 2000. A bid guarantee will be required. Award of a contract is contingent on the availability of funds. A pre-proposal conference to discuss project objectives and answer questions will be held on July 17, 2000 at 1:00 P.M. in Conference Room no. 108, Building 21 of the Carl T. Hayden VA Medical Center, 650 East Indian School Road, Phoenix, AZ.
