Request for Proposals (RFP) for the design and construction of a new
multi-purpose icebreaker for the Great Lakes. This procurement will be
a single-phase acquisition for design and construction. The draft RFP
Performance Specification has been posted to the Great Lakes
Icebreaking (GLIB) Capability acquisition project web site:
http://www.uscg.mil/hq/g-a/glib/. Additional draft RFP documents will
be posted sequentially for industry review and comment. The Coast Guard
will conduct a pre-solicitation conference in conjunction with this
draft solicitation. The PSC will be held at Coast Guard Headquarters,
room 2415, on Tuesday, August 1, 2000, beginning at 8:00 AM. Additional
details will be posted on the web site in mid-July. The Coast Guard
will not provide copies of the draft RFP and recommends attendee bring
their own copy. There will not be a separate CBD notice to announce
the PSC. The planned release of the final RFP is November 2000. Updates
to the projectschedule will be posted to the GLIB web site. This
solicitation is intended to be full and open competition. The standard
