E-MAIL: Diane Scherer, dbssewp3@pop200.gsfc.nasa.gov. NASA/GSFC plans to issue a solicitation for an anticipated follow-on to NASA s Scientific and Engineering Workstation Procurement (SEWP). NASA s Scientific and Engineering Workstation Procurement current contracts (SEWP II) offer state-of-the-art computer system technologies, high-end scientific and engineering processing capabilities, peripherals, and network equipment. The anticipated release date for the draft follow-on solicitation is on or about June 30, 2000. The release of the final solicitation is anticipated on or about July 30, 2000. This announcement is notice for both the draft and final Request For Proposal (RFP) for this acquisition. The Draft Request For Proposal (DRFP) is issued to solicit industry s comments on all aspects of the solicitation, including specifications, benchmarks, schedules, proposal instructions, terms and conditions and evaluation approaches. The use of industry comments to structure the final RFP is at the discretion of the Government. In accordance with FAR 52.215-3, Request for information or Solicitation for Planning Purposes (OCT 1997), the Government does not intend to award a contact on the basis of the Draft RFP, or to otherwise pay for information solicited. The draft solicitation (DRFP5-51953-026) documents will be posted on the World-Wide Wed (WWW) at the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS), the Commerce Business Daily CBDNet and SEWP III web: http://sewpiii.sewp.nasa.gov. The documents will be in Microsoft Office Suite 97 versions of MS Word and Excel, and may be accessed using a WWW browser application. The final solicitation documents for RFP5-51953-026 will be posted at the same sites as the draft document. Industry questions/comments on the draft documents are due no later than two weeks after the posted date of the draft solicitation. Questions and comments must be made using the SEWP III Web Comment Collector which will be available at the http://sewpiii.sewp.nasa.gov website when the Draft RFP is released. Comments / questions received from any other source will not be responded to by the Government. The Government s responses will be posted at SEWP III Web. Information about the current SEWP contracts can be found at the SEWP II Web at http://sewp.nasa.gov. Interested parties are encouraged to visit the SEWP III Web and register their interest in participation in a follow-on procurement. It is anticipated that SEWP III will award commercial IDIQ contracts for 9 Computer Systems/Servers classes in a full and open competition and 5 Supporting Equipment classes in both full and open and small business set-asides. The SIC Code and Size Standard are 5045 and 100 employees, respectively. Interested parties are responsible to monitor the aforementioned Internet sites for release of the draft RFP and amendment(s) (if any), and the subsequent final RFP, and are responsible for downloading their own copies of all documents.
