TRICARE Management Activity (TMA) is seeking up to 12 vendors to
exhibit healthcare products and/or services at the Uniform Business
Office (UBO) Workshop, August 8-10, 2000, at the Sheraton Augusta
Hotel, Augusta, GA. The emphasis of the workshop is on sharpening the
tools necessary to improve Uniform Business Office (including Third
Party Collection Program, Medical Services Account, Medical Affirmative
Claims) business practices. The Workshop will be attended by Military
Treatment Facility (MTF) Third Party Collection (TPC), Medical Services
Account (MSA), and Medical Affirmative Claims (MAC) Managers and others
in the MTF Uniform Business Office arena. Exhibitors will include
health insurance industry representatives, vendors with expertise in
coding methodologies, patient account management consulting services,
military healthcare billing representatives, and other who directly
impact collections. Products or services for the exhibits must be
applicable to the management and administrative aspects of the Uniform
Business Office, including the Third Party Collection Program (TPCP),
Medical Services Account (MSA), and Medical Affirmative Claims (MAC).
Aspects of the UBO include the following: utilization management;
transcription, coding, billing (both paper, electronic data interchange
(EDI) and web-based tools); and consulting in adherence to Health
Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Balanced Budget
Act of 1997, Health Care Financing Adminstration (HCFA) requirements,
compliance plans, claims management, Medicare, etc. Additional
information regarding the nature of exhibits sought will be provided in
the exhibitor prospectus. Exhibit space will consist of an area for one
six foot table with two chairs each. TMA will make exhibitor selections
based on applicability to the Workshop focus and topical areas, as well
as the order of receipt of completed applications. All arrangements
