NASA/ARC plans to issue a Request for Offers (RFO) to provide labor, equipment, and materials to modify the N271 Industrial Wastewater Pretreatment Plant at the NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, CA. The plant was designed using reverse osmosis, a prefiltering system and microfiltration to treat the wastewater stream and to remove heavy metals and other contaminants in order to reuse and/or dump the water into the local municipality sewer system. The Government will make award based on a best value analysis. Factors to be evaluated include the offerors' technical approach, past performance in industrial waste water treatment including removal of heavy metals, and proposed cost. The order of magnitude for the procurement is $500,000 and $1,000,000 and the effort shall be completed within 180 calendar days after notice to proceed. The SIC Code and small business size standard for this procurement are 1629 and $17 Million, respectively. The anticipated release date of the RFO is on or about July 5,2000 with an anticipated offer closing date of on or about August 7, 2000. The firm date for receipt of offers will be stated in the RFO.
