E-MAIL: Gloria Marsh, gloria.marsh-1@ksc.nasa.gov. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, which is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ); quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The information required by FAR Subpart 12.6 is included in the on-line RFQ linked above or it may be accessed at http://procurement.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/EPS/bizops.cgi?gr=C&pin= . NASA/KSC plans to acquire 25 each of the following: VME Chassis to provide a VME64X backplane and mechanical enclosure; houses VME interface cards to implement subsystem level designs. Requirements: 1)The chassis shall contain a VME64X backplane. 2)The VME64X backplane shall have be reverse mounted. 3)The VME64X backplaneshall have all grant signals daisy-chained. 4)The backplane shall have a minimum of 16 rear accessible 6U X 160mm VME64X slots (front of backplane). 5)The backplane shall have a minimum of 3 front accessible 6U transition slots (rear of backplane). 6)The P2 connector on rear-side of backplane shall come WITHOUT a shroud. 7)A metal door to provide front access restriction and cover, shall be on hinges and removable. 8)The metal door shall be closed with thumb screws. 9)An internal cableway shall be provided allowing cable access from the rear of the chassis to the front. 10)Dual redundant 750 Watt, 110 Volt, 60 Hz power supplies, shall be provided. 11)The power switch shall be on the front of the chassis, preferably recessed. 12)The system reset switch shall be on front of the chassis, preferably recessed. 13)The rear of the chassis shall be completely open. 14)The card cage shall have cooling fans. 15)The chassis shall be of a standard, rackmountable 19" card cage width, a minimum 6U height, with depth dimensions of 19" minimum and 23" maximum. 16)Chassis shall be IEEE-1101 compliant.
