The CECOM Acquisition Center-Washington intends to extend the ordering period for hardware, software and documentation for Contract Number DAAB07-97-D-V007 with Savi Technology, from 1 September 2000 until 31 August 2002, per the approved J&A. The extension is necessary in order to provide an integrated source of supplies and services for Active and Passive RFID technologies for the customers of PM AIT. The contract requires commercially produced radio frequency identification products, including Active Transponders with a memory size of 128 Kbytes and an omnidirectional read and write distance of 300 feet with a battery life of four years; and handheld and fixed active interrogators which can discriminate among 250 transponders within their communication range.
