POC Bettie L. Hartley, Contracting Officer 301-443-7848 E-MAIL: Program
Support Center, bhartley@psc.gov. The Substance Abuse and Mental Health
Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Mental Health Services
(CMHS) through the Division of Acquisition Management, Program Support
Center (PSC), intends to award a three (3) month sole source
simplified acquisition to Washington Business Group on Health,
Washington, DC. The purpose of this simplified acquisition is to submit
a proposal for a white paper -- Preliminary Consideration in Developing
the Role of Employers in Preventing School Violence. The proposed
project shall result in a white paper to assist the Center for Mental
Health Services' work in expanding school violence prevention through
the support and development of positive programs that increase
resilience and protective factors for children and youth. The white
paper would present preliminary analysis, initial findings and suggest
future approaches to developing a role for large employers in CMHS's
overall violence prevention efforts, as it looks to expand its violence
prevention effortsbeyond the traditional participants, such as
education, law enforcement and mental health. Closing date is June 30,
2000. This is not a formal solicitation for proposals. However, firms
having the ability to satisfy this requirement must submit written
notification that demonstrates their ability to do so. If no
affirmative responses are received within 10 days from the date of this
synopsis, the Contracting Officer will proceed with the award to
