Enforcement Administration (DEA) has a requirement for a Non-Linear
Junction Detector (Item 0001) and an Omni-Directional Antenna with
Telescoping Pole (Item 0002). The contractor shall provide a Non-Linear
Detector (0001) meeting the following description: Display in second
and third harmonic; employ digital signal processing (DSP) in the
receiver; frequency of selection transmitter should have an operator
changeable value over at least a 50 megahertz window; polarized
antenna; headset with ear piece; rechargeable battery (pouch and
charger); charger and travel case; pelican carrying case; pouch with
shoulder strap; and control module. The contractor shall provide an
omni-Directional Antenna with Telescoping Pole (0002) that meets the
following description: Must have the ability to scan the target areas
once as opposed to several times; and the antenna must be able to
receive signals in a 360 degree area eliminating the need to change
orientation of the receiver. The Telescoping Pole must be designed so
as to extend the Omni-Directional Antenna to areas beyond the normal
reach of the operator, without the need for a ladder. The contractor
shall be required to provide packaging in accordance with commercail
practices. The contractor shall also be required to provide training to
DEA personnel in the proper use, operation, and maintenance of the
equipment. Offerors are required to provide, as part of their offer, a
copy of their industry standard warranty. Award will be based on that
proposal which best meets the requirement defined in the RFQ, and
which is determined to be in the best interest of the Govrnment. The
Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 5731. Release of the
Request for Quote (RFQ) is anticipated on or about July 13, 2000. All
interested parties are asked to submit a written request for a copy of
the RFQ to the Contracting Officer. Offerors must provide their
complete mailing address, street address (if different from mailing
address), phone number, fax number, and designated point of contact for
receipt of correspondence. No telephone requests will be honored, but
fax requests are acceptable. All requests for a copy of the RFQ must be
received by July 10, 2000, to be included on the solicitation mailing
