The US Geolgical Survey has a requirement for two and three dimensional multichannel seismic reflection data in hardcopy and digital form from various areas of the United States. These data sources are used to determine geologic structure, stratigraphic relationships, tetonics, and geologic history as it relates to the assessment of energy resources in sedimentary basins of the nation. The two and three dimensional multichannel seismic reflection data must have been acquired and processed using these minimum standards: Energy Source -- Dynamite and/or Vibroseis; Record Length -- 1 second or more; Sample Rate -- .5 milliseconds or more, but not more than 4 milliseconds; Number of Recording Channels -- 24 or more; Stack Fold -- 12 or more. The data must have been originally processed within 18 months of acquisition using industry standard techniques at that time. If the data has been re-processed at a later date the USGS requests the data using the latest version of the processing available to the vendor; Horizontal Scale -- not less than 24 traces per inch; Vertical Scale -- not less than 2.5 inches per second; Polarity -- normal or reversed (as specified on the hardcopy plot of the data). The USGS will require access to the vendors entire data library of two and three dimensional, multichannel seismic reflection data from the entire U.S. including Alaska. The USGS will select data from this library primarily from geologic provinces/areas of onshore and offshore Gulf Coast regions of TX, LA, AL, MS, FL, including those areas which cover the Tuscaloosa; Crazy Mountain Basin, MT; Albuquerque Basin, NM, The Appalachian Basin regions of AL, TN, NC, KY, WV, VA, OH, PA, and NY; Alaska including the onshore and offshore regions of the North Slope, Cook Inlet, and interior basins.
