B -- DEFENSE INTELLIGENCE AGENCY'S ACADEMIC OUTREACH PROGRAM POC John Fallon (202)231-2824 The Virginia Contracting Activity (VACA) is seeking proposals in connection with the Defense Intelligence Agency's Academic Outreach Program. VACA intends to issue a series of Request for Quotations (RFQs) that will be set-aside for the exclusive participation of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority Institutions. The Agency is seeking support from the academic community in acquiring and processing technical services to assist in the evaluation of the spectral capabilities of emerging commercial systems to address intelligence community requirements. These requirements will assess the various commercial open source spectral data to identify current state-of-the-art technology necessary to support environmental/agricultural needs for spectral data. Further, some requirements will require the collection of well-calibrated hyperspectral data of dense triple canopy jungle foilage and the atmospheric environment in these areas. The planned release date of these solicitations is 10 July 00.
