Dept of Commerce/NOAA/NMFS/Office of Protected Resources intends to negotiate on a sole basis with the Chicago Zoological Society, Brookfield, IL to provide support of the International Whaling Commission, Pollution 2000 project. This project is part of the world's longest running study of wild dolphins. In this study, veterinary examinations and blood sample collections have been integrated into the overall sampling plan and blood samples have been frozen from past years for analyses. These additional samples will increase the sample size and strengthen the correlations with health. This a long terms study to follow individual animals to determine behavior, reproductive biology, biology, and health on bottlenose dolphins. This is a notice of intend and cannot be considered a solicitation, therefore no solicitation documents exist. Award will be made using Simplified Acquisitions Procedures.
