and Wainscot Refurbishment 1. This work consists of, but is not limited
to, furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment to repair, clean,
and refinish three (3) decorative wood doors and transoms, 275 wainscot
panels in historical rooms, and six (6) wood fluted columns. All work
will be performed in the Main Justice Building located between Ninth
and Tenth Streets, and Constitution and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW,
Washington, DC. 2. To request a package detailing the scope of work,
please provide us your mailing address and phone number via fax at
202-307-1915 by noon (eastern time) on June 28, 2000. Address the fax
to Ms. Pam Rhame. 3. The bidder's submittal package will be evaluated
on a best value basis. Please include a detailed cost quotation,
description of previous experience on at least three other wood
refurbishment projects which were a minimum of $25,000, and the names,
addresses and current phone numbers of at least three references. 4.
A mandatory site visit will be held on June 29 at 1:00pm. We will meet
at the construction security trailor located at the corner of Ninth
and Constitution Avenue. Please bring a picture identification, as well
as hard hat, goggles, and wear proper clothing attire for the
construction site. 5. Please fax any questions you have concerning this
project to the fax number listed above by July 7, 2000. The questions
and answers will be prepared and faxed to each prospective bidder who
requested a package. 6. Quotes are due by close of business July 14,
2000. Please send quotes via fax at 202-307-1915. The successful vendor
will be required to complete the job by August 15, 2000. 7. This
solicitation is one hundred percent set aside for small business,
vendors will be required to provide documentation on their eligibility
as a small business. 8. The work site is in an area under renovation,
therefore workers are required to wear appropriate safety attire
meeting applicable OSHA standards. 9. The work in this area can be done
between the hours of 7:00 am and 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Authorization to work outside of these hours must be obtained from the
Contracting Officer. 10. The Main Justice Building is a secure
facility. The successful contractor will be required to submit the
names, dates of birth, and social security numbers of their staff prior
to gaining access to the facility. No onsite parking will be provided,
although contractor(s) will have limited access to the building to
