DESC: FAMILY OF MEDIUM TACTICAL VEHICLES (FMTV) RELEASE OF DRAFT REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL The U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command (TACOM)is planning to release a Draft Request for Proposal (RFP) approximately the first week of July 2000 for the FMTV Future Phase I Program. The FMTV Future Phase I is for the evaluation and testing of proposed changes to the FMTV to comply with 2002 EPA and other Federal Motor Regulation changes. Phase II of the FMTV Future Program is a multiyear production contract (FY02-06)which will be competed between a limited number of contractors that successfully complete Phase I. This draft solicitation will be posted to the TACOM Web at http://contracting.tacom.army.mil/opportunity.htm. Comments and/or questions regarding this draft solicitation should be submitted to TACOM by the first week in August 2000. A pre-proposal conference is being scheduled for late August 2000.
