combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation No. 60181-0-Q523
is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) and will be awarded as a
purchase order using simplified acquisition procedures. The Standard
Industrial Classification (SIC) is 1429, Rip rap quarrying, except
limestone or granite. Small business size standard is 500 employees.
See Note 1. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and
clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-17.
The solicitation item is as follows: (1) Provide equipment and labor to
furnish, deliver, and place 2750 cubic yards of Large Riprip on two
project locations to prevent damage to existing riprap. Locations are
at the Tewaukon National Wildlife Refuge, Cayuga, Nebraska. The
delivery points are the Point Road and the White Bridge located at this
site. Specifications of the riprap shall be 5-20%, 4-6", volume
0.04-0.13ft3, weight 6-20#; 35-65%, 6-12", volume 0.13-1.00ft3, weight
20-155#; and, 20-35%, 12-18", volume 1.00-3.38ft3, weight 155-523#. A
Variation in Estimated Quantity, FAR 52.211-18, of the item called for
is included in this contract. The provision at FAR 52.212-1,
Instructions to Offerors-Commercial Items, are applicable to this
acquisition. The clause at FAR 52.212-4, Contract Terms and
Conditions-Commercial Items, and the clause at FAR 52.212-5, Contract
Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or Executive
Orders-Commercial Items, apply to this acquisition. The clauses may be
viewed at the following internet site: www.arnet.gov/far. Evaluation
of Commercial Items: The Government will award to the responsible
offeror based on price. Vendors wishing to respond to this RFQ should
provide this office with the following: Price quote on letterhead for
the requested line item, correct remittance address, and a completed
copy of FAR clauses 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and
Certifications-Commercial Items. This form may be obtained from the
Contracting Officer by fax at (303) 236-4791. The offeror agrees to
hold the prices in the offer firm and for 30-calendar days from the
date specified for the receipt of offers. Quotes are due no later than
4:00 p.m. (Local Time), July 10, 2000, and can be faxed to
