The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Coastal Systems Station, Panama City, Florida, intends to award a sole-source purchase order to Unified Industries, Inc. Unified Industries Inc. designed the Telogistics program to support the needs of Mine Warfare community. This hardware/software system was delivered and installed on USS SCOUT (MCM-8) and SIMA Ingleside, TX in October 1999. This task builds on the previous effort and requires modifications of the software and hardware developed under reference (a) to support installation of Telogistics on ships deploying with the Lincoln Battle Group in July 2000. The software developed is complex in nature, non-standard, and unique for this specific application. No other contractor currently posses the knowledge or experience required to modify the software as required by this task. It is not feasible to develop a second source for this task due to cost involved and the schedule. Specifically, this task order will develop the modified Telogistics solution to be integrated into an overall Distance Support solution that will be installed in the ships of the Lincoln Battle Group (BG), the ships of the Tarawa Amphibious Readiness Group (ARG) and the associated support ships.
