Byrd 612-725-2188 Under Statutory Authority 41 U.S.C. 253(1) the Government anticipates entering into sole source procurement negotiations with Dartmouth Medical School, Center for the Evaluative Clinical Sciences, 7251 Strasenburgh, Hanover, NH to participate under HSR&D grant entitled "Facilitating Shared Decision Making About Prostate Cancer Screening". This grant has been reviewed and approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs Merit Review Application system and is an ongoing study. Dartmouth Medical School will furnish a co-principle investigator to provide expert guidance and advice on the video implementation and data collection protocols and assist with the project dissemination activities. The above authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by services available from one source. This contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR 6.302. Other persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement by June 30, 2000. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation document is available. However, the Government will consider all interests received on or before June 30, 2000. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
