albert.villapando@mail.va.gov. The Veterans Affairs, Austin Automation
Center (AAC), Austin, Texas intends to award a contract for the one
year with two one year options, for the offsite storage of backup tapes
of computer files and other materials that would be necessary to
recover the AAC in a disaster recovery situation. The contractor shall
be required to pickup tapes each workday (Monday through Saturday).
The contractor site shall be located at least 15 miles from the AAC,
Austin, but no further than 80 miles. The contractor may also be
requested on an emergency basis to bring tapes back to AAC Austin for
recovery purposes. If a disaster occurs at the AAC Austin, the
contractor shall be requested to ship the tapes via same day delivery,
to an alternate processing site. Period of performance for this
requirement is October 1, 2000 through September 30, 2001. This
requirement is being processed on a full and open basis. The resultant
contract will be firm, fixed price. The final contract award decision
may be based upon a combination of price, past performance, and other
evaluation factors as described in the solicitation. Companies who can
provide the service must indicate their interest by submitting a
request for a copy of the solicitation. All request shall be in writing
to the attention of the contracting officer or via fax to 512/326-6028
within 30 days for publication of this notice. Oral communications are
